Protest meeting of the Alliance for Changes (Savez za promjene) in the park Mladen Stojanović and the support meeting to the current authority in Republika Srpska at the square of Krajina in Banja Luka ended without incidents.
When addressing the gathered citizens, both groups highlighted satisfaction and complete success of the meeting. At the meeting of the opposition, it was pointed out that today’s gathering is the beginning of the end for the ruling structure in the RS.
Mladen Ivanić, member of the Presidency of BiH, leaders of parties which constitute the Alliance for Changes, and representatives of veteran associations and certain social categories addressed around 20.000 citizens who attended the meeting of opposition in the park Mladen Stojanović.
“Let’s show them that they have a reason to be afraid of us and that no lie of theirs can wash out our truth,“ said Dragan Čavić, leader of NDP, and announced a new meeting in a month from now, in case the price of electrical energy does not go down.
Mladen Ivanić said that they gathered out of spite and that they will endure in their intention to bring down the current authority in the RS.
Mladen Bosić, who was the last to address the citizens at the meeting of opposition, read six points which make up the core of requests for the current authority. Thus, they demand the organizing of early presidential and parliamentarian elections in Republika Srpska together with local elections, the forming of a transitional government of national salvation which will organize and implement fair elections, making it a priority to ensure the payment of veteran allowance, allowances for mothers and incentives for agricultural producers, putting out of force the decision on the increase in the price of electrical energy and termination of allowing concessions and the sale of natural resources, shedding light on political murders and corruption affairs, and introduction of a natural administration which will put the public service in the functon of unbiased and objective media.
On the other side, leaders of parties which constitute the RS government headed by Milorad Dodik’s SNSD Petar Đokić from SP and Mirko Pavić from DNS also addressed the attendees.
In his address, Dodik thanked the citizens for loving the RS, especially highlighting the “treacherous“ policy of the Alliance for Changes on state level.
Dodik took advantage of the meeting to repeat one more time his already well-known attitudes about Republika Srpska being a country and how no one will abolish it. He also stressed the permanency of the relationship with Serbia and stated that the RS is open for all those who respect it the way it is.
