With the massive data to be maintained and the associated data breaches, it is pretty challenging to maintain a more private online presence.

Being essentially required to maintain a secure online presence, it sounds pretty complicated to understand that it has to be maintained.

However, to maintain these high levels of a secure network, choosing a dedicated VPN can be one of the excellent options. Read on to know more about it.

Tips for maintaining privacy online!

1. Limit the personal information sharing online

The initial step to secure your information is sharing less of it. We often see people openly sharing their information online, and when it is about sharing what you are doing or what fun place you are visiting, social media comes to mind first.

However, we often forget that these social media platforms collect the details, and your shared activities can hardly secure your data and maintain privacy as you like.

Therefore, the only way to manage this is by:

·       Sharing less on forms

·       Secure your Wi-Fi passwords

·       Create a throwaway email

·       Limit the albums, folders, or playlists

2.     Use unique authentication with two-factor authentication

Choosing strong passwords is crucial when creating an account on any online platform. And obviously, sometimes it is the only protection against hackers and thefts.

We suggest if you do not have set passwords for your email accounts, go and get them updated now! You’ll be astonished to know that hackers can even hack the accounts if you do not set a password that makes the device locked in a shorter time span.

The best setting is to set a password or choose to open the lock using a fingerprint with a 30 seconds screen time off.

3.     Browse in private or incognito mode

If you do not want your system to save the temporary internet files, cookies, or browsing history, you must only perform the web surfing in a protected mode.

Web browsers usually have two versions.

One is normal

Another is incognito.

The Incognito version provides a form of privacy that helps maintain higher privacy levels so that others will not be able to track the browsing history.

However, it is essential to note that these private modes are not entirely private.

PS: Even if you are searching in incognito mode, the ISPs can still see the browsing activity.

But yes, choosing to browse in incognito mode has some specific advantages that can help you maintain at least some privacy levels.

4.     A dedicated VPN

A VPN (Virtual Private Network) provides obscurity and online confidentiality by generating a secure network from a public one. It generally masks the IP address so that users’ online activities cannot be virtually traced. Employing adedicated VPN can be good and is imperative while using community Wi-Fi, making it challenging for cybercriminals to breach online confidentiality and access personal data.

You may discover ample VPN solutions, but choosing a completely dedicated VPN from a trusted service provider makes more sense to maintain higher privacy levels online.

5.     Use quality antivirus

Install a quality antivirus on your device. This can help you save your device from hackers from remotely taking over the device, tracking the user’s location, or accessing any of the information.

It is nothing like installing the antivirus and then forgetting about it. Since the service providers keep on updating the terms and updates to provide an enhanced user experience. So to add this additional protection layer to keep your antivirus updated.

6.     Be careful about where you click.

“Think before you click!”

One of the imperative ways through which the hackers may compromise the user’s online privacy is with the help of phishing attempts.

During the phishing attack, hackers trick the users into sharing their valuable information. They can do it by sending fake automated emails to trick users and access their data.

And when you click on the shared link or provide any other information, they can immediately access the information.

Final Takeaway!

The Internet world is pretty easy to use, but simultaneously, it is challenging to maintain online privacy!

Choose to keep your online actions and events secure with the help of the tips mentioned above. And if you are looking for a reliable one, a dedicated VPN can always be good from a trusted source is all you need!
