The Mayor of Jablanica, Emir Muratović, met on Thursday in Jablanica with representatives of the United Nations Development Programme – UNDP, with whom he discussed the implementation of 20 million euros, which the European Commission will implement through UNDP and IOM (International Organization for Migration) for the rehabilitation of facilities and infrastructure affected by the natural disaster.
The funds will be implemented through public calls to be announced by these organizations, and priority will be given to projects in the field of infrastructure, reconstruction of housing and public facilities, and support for businesses that suffered consequences during the recent floods and whose operations are at risk.
The goal of implementing these funds is to improve the living conditions of citizens and provide assistance for the fastest possible recovery after the natural disaster.
Municipal Mayor Emir Muratović introduced the UNDP representatives to the activities that the Jablanica Municipality is carrying out, referring to the elaboration of the vulnerability, stabilization and rehabilitation of the terrain in cooperation with the Tuzla Faculty of Mining, Geology and Civil Engineering, whose findings will be key for further planning of rehabilitation and construction of facilities, the Jablanica Municipality announced.
On this occasion, UNPD representatives expressed their praise for the municipal administration and its proactive approach and exceptional preparedness for the implementation of upcoming projects.
As they pointed out, the Municipality of Jablanica is the leading municipality in preparatory activities, which will significantly facilitate the implementation of the planned activities.
Mayor Muratović expressed satisfaction at the continuation of successful cooperation, stressing that on Friday, January 24, another meeting will be held, with an expanded composition, between representatives of the Municipality and UNDP, after which the public will be informed about the details of all the activities that will follow in the coming period, Fena writes.
