HR Schmidt juxtaposed former President Alija Izetbegovic with War Criminal Ratko Mladic

High Representative Christian Schmidt speaking about the disgraceful curriculum in BiH’s entity Republika Srpska, said that he would do everything to improve the entire education system in BiH, and then shockingly put the convicted war criminal Ratko Mladić and the first president of the Republic of BiH Alija Izetbegović on the same level.

Schmidt said that he does not like to see two schools under one roof, but that only one school under one roof is possible.

Then he said that his heart aspires for it, to sit down and create a common curriculum and to put pressure on ourselves to understand that this is a betrayal of the young generations if we don’t do it.

“I am really convinced that those pictures of Mladic and Kovačević. I apologize, Mladić who is also named in the same way as… Not Kovačević… We cannot have such a difference… If we see Mladić and Alija Izetbegović, unacceptable way. Why put up pictures?

Give these children the opportunity to learn and make their own decisions. I think we should have a conference, to work with academics on what history is and what we can offer to new generations,” said Schmidt as a guest on Face TV.

Klix.ba sought a detailed explanation of this statement from the OHR, since it is not known for what reason the high representative put Alija Izetbegović on the same level with the convicted war criminal Ratko Mladić, who is guilty of genocide in Srebrenica and horrific war crimes, terrorism, deportations, murders and rape.

Alija Izetbegović was neither accused nor tried for any events from the last war, and he died in 2003, unlike the bloodthirsty Ratko Mladić, who was sentenced to life imprisonment before the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, Klix.ba writes.
