The Israeli army today issued an emergency order to evacuate residents of 25 towns in southern Lebanon amid airstrikes on the country.

Army spokesman Avichay Adraee called on residents of the targeted towns to leave their homes and move north of the Awali River.

The list of cities to be evacuated includes Borgholiyeh, Qasmiyeh, Nabi Qasim, Al-Matariyyah, Kharayeb, Mazraat Kauthariyet El Rez, Ansar, Babliyeh, Deir Taqla, Aadloun and Ansariyeh.

The cities of Merouaniyeh, Zefta, Bfaroueh, Habbouch, Nabatieh, Sejoud, Jbaa, Aanqoun, Bnaafoul, Qennarit, Zeita, Aarnaya, Mazraat Matariyet Jbaa and Tanbourit are also on the list.

Adraee said the Israeli army would allow residents of these towns to return “when appropriate conditions permit.”

The Israeli military issued several evacuation orders for dozens of towns in southern Lebanon as Tel Aviv carried out air and ground attacks in the area.

Since September 23, Israel has launched airstrikes across Lebanon against what it says are Hezbollah targets, killing at least 1,488 people and injuring more than 4,297. More than 1.34 million people were displaced, AA writes.
