During his visit to Rome, High Representative Christian Schmidt met again with Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State of the Holy See, at the Vatican. Their discussion highlighted the importance of strengthening dialogue and deepening cooperation within society as essential pillars for lasting peace, stability, and prosperity in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
High Representative Schmidt thanked Pope Leo XIV for distinguishing Bosnia and Herzegovina, in his New year’s speech, as an example for reconciliation. Furthermore, he referred to the renewed interreligious dialogue as the right approach to overcome the deadlock in European integrations.
“Continued engagement and mutual understanding in support of the country’s progress and social cohesion must remain at the top of the priorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s leaders,” said High Representative Schmidt.
