The Pomozi.ba association has launched an appeal to raise funds for Syrian children who are dying of cold and hunger.
For this purpose, the humanitarian number 17002 was put into operation, which donates two convertible marks (BAM), and the number is unique for all operators.
Elvir Karalic, founder and president of the Pomozi.ba Association, shared his experiences related to Syria and asked all people who are able to help, certainly aware of the fact that the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina is far from great, but that our children do not die from cold.
“Exactly nine years ago, in February 2013, I was in Syria as part of the first convoy of aid from Bosnia to Syria. Although Pomozi.ba was still in its infancy at the time and had only a few actions behind it, at the invitation of Zemira Gorinjac, president Solidarity Association, to help the people of Syria, I felt a great need to respond, but not only that, but also the need to go there and see these people. I go and see these children who have been in a rain of grenades and bullets, children without arms, legs, eyes. I saw a child hit in the back by a sniper, the second with whom a plane bomb tore off both legs, the third wounded all over his body and left without both parents… “, said Karalic.
As he said, as time passed, those memories began to fade and then two days ago he received pictures of a child from a camp in northern Syria.
A child beautiful, beautiful. A child frozen, dead. All memories that have begun to fade come back. This time I will personally ask that we respond to the appeal of these people and help everyone in accordance with their abilities, because regardless of the situation in our country, which we cannot say is great, our children do not die of winter in tents, “said Karalic .
In addition to the call to number 17002, Syrian children can also be helped by donations via the web platform www.pomoziba.org or payments via standard accounts of the Pomozi.ba Association.
