The Italian ambassador in B&H Ruggero Corrias and the founder of the Ars Aevi Museum Enver Hadžiomerspahić handed in a valuable office equipment to the Prva Osnovna Škola of Maglaj. The money to do it was raised by selling specially designed Illy cups.
“By this gesture of great social responsibility, Ars Aevi contributes to the renewal of the flooded areas in B&H. The focus is on the young population in order to remind everyone that education, culture and civic activism are the future of this country.” – said ambassador Corrias.
Ambassador Corrias and the mayor of the Municipality of Maglaj Mehmed Mustabašić visited this school heavily damaged in the floods. The director of the school, Admir Graciš welcomed them. The donation was financed by the funds raised by the humanitarian sale of the Illycaffe cups which was organized during the celebration of the Day of Republic of Italy in June this year.
The Italian government helped the population affected by the floods urgently and by ensuring 300 000 Euros of aid. The aid was distributed via the International Red Cross, the WHO and around 70 Italian volunteers who were helping the population in Bijeljina during the worst days of the floods. At the donor’s conference in Bruxelles this year, Italy committed to provide help for the renewal in B&H by giving 1,2 million Euros dedicated to projects related to agriculture and small companies.
