The multimedia room of the municipality of Novi Grad was filled with viewers during the premiere screening of “Dobrinja – the Siege Within the Siege” this Sunday in the capital of B&H.
The film – by Bosnian-Herzegovinian publicist, Avdo Huseinović – showcases the most important events that took place in the Sarajevo neighborhood of Dobrinja during the Bosnian War of 1992 to 1995.
In the new documentary, Huseinović shows viewers what military and civilian life was like for 30,000 residents, who were cut off from the rest of Sarajevo during the aggression over the country.
The author said that the film sends a message as to what a “normal” man is able to withstand if a desire and a will to survive exists.
The film shows authentic voice recordings and other documents found from the besieged Dobrinja, which were used as evidence during criminal proceedings at the International Court against former members of the Army of Republika Srpska.
Avdo Huseinovic is the author of several documentaries and books that testify to the crimes committed in B&H during the war.
The film was made in co-production with the “Pravda” Association and the municipality of Novi Grad.
