Charles Michel, President of the European Council, announced that an agreement had been reached on 50 billion euros for Ukraine. “All 27 leaders agreed,” he said, adding that “this ensures steady, long-term, predictable funding for Ukraine.”
The agreement comes after the bloc’s most influential politicians spoke with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán this morning.
Orbán vetoed the deal during a summit in December. Michel’s announcement shows that they managed to convince the Hungarian leader.
