The official press conference of the senior women’s national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina ahead of the match with Israel was held on Wednesday at the FF BH Training Centre in Zenica.
Head coach Samira Hurem and players Milena Nikolić and Marija Aleksić answered the journalists’ questions.
Hurem points out that the team is ready for the match:
“We had a really good preparation for the match, the players were doing quality training. We played our last qualifying match just against Israel and we know our opponent well. It is a quality and experienced team. We were better in Israel and won, but there were mistakes on our part in that match. During the preparations, we worked to correct those mistakes and I believe that we will show on the pitch that we are of better quality and that we will win 3 points.”
The head coach commented on the group:
“The group is tough, but we’re in a good position. We are third with 9 points and it would mean a lot to us to win 6 more in the upcoming matches with Israel and Malta. In these qualifications we have a great opportunity to improve the rating and to be third in the group, so every point is important to us. That way we would better seeding on the next draws and open the door to something more. This team has shown that it is on the right track, that it wants to make a breakthrough and can do very good things for women’s football in Bosnia and Herzegovina.”
Milena Nikolić stated:
“As captain, I can say that we have never had a better atmosphere in the team. This has also had a positive effect on our results, which are excellent even though our team is young. We are maximal preparing for these matches. We are focused on Israel and want to continue our series of victories. We play on our pitch, in front of our audience and I hope we will fulfil our expectations and win points.”
Marija Aleksić is looking forward to tomorrow’s match:
“We played very well in these qualifications, we won nine points and scored 12 goals. We are maximally focused on making the qualifications as good as possible. Technical staff, players, we all have a common goal, and when we get to the goal together, it’s much easier. We can hardly wait for the match and hope to show ourselves once again in the best light on our pitch.”
The match Bosnia and Herzegovina vs. Israel starts today at 16:30 o’clock at the FF BH Training Centre in Zenica.
