Hydroelectric Power Plant Višegrad Breaks Records in Production

he višegradThe Director of “HE na Drini” Mile Lakić said yesterday to Srna Agency that hydroelectric power plant Višegrad met the monthly production plan for May in 17 days, which is a huge success for this hydropower facility.

“What is more significant is that three hydropower turbines produced as much electricity this time for 4 months and 17 days as in 2011.

He explained that this facility, with an installed power of 315 megawatts, produced 717 gigawatt hours of electricity for 12 months two years ago.

“The annual plan of 909 gigawatts of electricity generated will certainly be met and exceeded, so it is inevitable to return to the rebalancing of production’’, said Lakić.

He thinks that the entire year will be successful, because hydrology is still favorable, as well as the readiness of facilities, and it is favored by the full reservoir of hydropower plants on the river Piva in Montenegro.

“Good production results will certainly be followed by good financial effects’’, said Lakić.
