Ibrahim Biogradlic, Legendary Defender of FC Sarajevo, died

ibrahim-biogradlic(bih.time.mk)Yesterday, Ibrahim Biogradlić, a legendary defender of Sarajevo, died in his 84th year. Ibrahim worn a Bordeaux shirt for 17 years.

In the history of the FC Sarajevo, Biogradlic played 378 games and was the player with the highest number of official appearances.

Biogradlic was born in 1931 in Sarajevo, near the football field in Skenderija. Already as a child he loved football so much. At age of 15 he started playing in the youth Udarnika. Later on Sloboda and Udarnik merged to form a club called Torpedo, and in 1946 founded the Football Club Sarajevo.

ibrahimbiogradlic (bljesak)At 18 he started playing in the first team of Sarajevo. For the Yugoslav team he has played eight times, including the Olympic Games in 1956 in Melbourne when Yugoslavia won a silver medal.

He never changed the club, although he had the chance. He stopped playing football in 1967, and became a coach. He was a long time in the Middle East and after he returned to Sarajevo he continued to hang out with old colleagues from the field.

Ceremony to commemorate the occasion of death was held in the ceremonial lounge FC Sarajevo on Saturday, 21 February 2015 at 11:00 o’clock.

The funeral will take place the same day at 15:30 o’clock at the graveyard Nisan – Jarcedoli.
