Ibrahimovic: I don’t believe in God, where was He when my Brother died of Leukemia?

Zlatan Ibrahimović, the Milan legend who today works as a consultant at the club, gave an interview to the respected American sports newspaper The Athletic in which he spoke about his new role.

“I have influence in a lot of issues in the club. My task is to bring results and increase the value of the team and the ambition to win. I am not a babysitter, my players are adults and must take responsibility. They must give 200 percent when I am not there,” said Ibrahimović.

The Italian club is preparing for a friendly match in the city of Baltimore in the United States of America, and Ibrahimović is also with the Milan team in America.

“I have a few gray hairs, and imagine how many I would have if I were a coach. A coach works 12 hours a day and has no free time. I wouldn’t be able to do that. My current role is to connect all sectors and be a leader, make sure that all structures in the organization work. Everyone has to be active,” he explained.

He pointed out that he is not a believer and that he only believes in respect.

“Only I can judge myself. I don’t believe in God. When my brother was dying of leukemia, where was He? You pray to Him every day, you thank Him every day, but then where is He in such moments? In my world everyone is his own god. I believe in that,” he said, among other things.

He also spoke on his son Maximilian, who will play in the Italian third league this season for the Milan Futuro team.

“It’s not easy for him because, obviously, his father is the way he is. So, he has a difficult last name. Wherever he goes, he will always be compared. But in Milan, in my role, I don’t see him differently from the others. I don’t judge him like my son. I judge him like everyone else. He has to study, he has to earn. He is mentally strong. But that is not the case,” Ibrahimović pointed out, Klix.ba writes.
