passportFollowing the recent publication of the Agency for Identification Documents, Registers and Data Exchange (IDDEEA), that passport booklets will not be available to buy after March, because tenders were void, the public in BiH started to panic. Not only that public is in panic due to the lack of booklets, but due to the possibility of the easier falsification of passports.

There is no reason to fear, was stated from the IDDEEA. They emphasize that biometric passports will be available to buy, and that elements of protection and degree of security of these documents will not be changed.

Amila Opardija, spokesperson of IDDEEA explained that the passports of the third generation with all the elements of protection will be issued to citizens following the established procedures.

Additionally, she explained that the amendments to the Rules do not change anything significant, except that they introduce other personalization technologies, which opens the possibility for competitive tenders.
