Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi will resign at the end of December.
By then, as the Times of Israel reports, he should complete all his internal investigations related to the Hamas attack on October 7 last year.
He will present these statements to the public before he retires.
By then, the IDF is also expected to complete all its preparations for a potential all-out war in Lebanon.
Halevi succeeded Aviv Kohavi as head of the IDF in January 2023.
Halevi has several times admitted full responsibility for the failure of the Hamas attack.
Despite these reports, the IDF has denied that Halevi has set a definitive date for his resignation, stating that he remains focused on leading the military through the current conflict. The situation remains fluid, with further developments expected as investigations progress and the war continues.
