At the Butmir base in Sarajevo, a methodical demonstration exercise was performed today, which demonstrated EUFOR’s capabilities on land and in the air.

During the method-demonstration exercise, EUFOR soldiers in cooperation with the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina demonstrated the skills of solving situations, such as hostage crisis, suppression of riots, patrolling, escorting convoys, medical evacuation and rescue by helicopter.

The goal of this activity, which closed this year’s “Quick Response” exercise, was to demonstrate EUFOR’s readiness and confirm its continuous support to partners in BiH in preserving the security environment in BiH.

The ceremony was attended by, among others, the Chief of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces of BiH Gojko Knežević, the new head of the EU Mission in BiH Luigi Soreca, the Minister of Defense of BiH Zukan Helez, as well as EUFOR officials.

Members of multinational forces in Kosovo (KFOR) also participated in the exercise.
