The Institute for Genocide Research Canada has reacted to the diplomatic scandal in North Macedonia, given that Milorad Dodik visited them under the flag of the entity, not the state. The IGK stressed that North Macedonia should apologize to the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of North Macedonia in charge of the Ohrid Peace Agreement, Ivan Stoilković, received the President of the entity of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, in Skopje. On the table were the flags of the entities of RS and North Macedonia, without the flag of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which, according to the IGK, is an open disrespect for the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“The display of the flag of one entity, without the state flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina, is support for Dodik’s anti-Bosnian, separatist policy. Dodik’s constant denial of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina makes it clear that he does not serve the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, but rather serves an anti-civilizational enterprise embodied in the grandiose Serbian anti-Bosnian campaign against the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina. His immoral, inhuman and inhumane attitude towards the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina clearly speaks of the character of his personality and political option,” they said.
They called on the state authorities of North Macedonia to apologize to the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina and in the future to respect the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, by respecting its state symbols.
“Anti-civilizational behavior towards the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina should be responded to once and for all in a decisive and appropriate manner. We cannot silently observe the continuous insults and humiliation of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, its organs and citizens, to which they have been exposed for a long time,” they said.
They emphasize that the complete protection of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina and its state symbols, its territorial integrity, sovereignty, independence, statehood and international political and legal subjectivity is a highly moral and deeply just act “which must be immediately carried out by all state bodies, embassies and diplomatic missions, institutions and civil servants without relying on an inert international community.”
