Residing representative of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Bosnia and Herzegovina Francisco Parodi stated that significant progress has been achieved during past several months regarding the negotiations between BiH and that international monetary institution.
BiH is in the final stage of communication with the IMF about getting a credit arrangement worth one billion BAM, i.e. the reinforced program of reforms.
“We are currently in the stage when we negotiate a set of policies that need to be implemented before the Executive Board of the IMF approves the program. In this way, we would demonstrate commitment to the program and open the path for further reforms which would be implemented during the course of the program. All these talks will be concluded in the context of IMF’s next mission which is yet to be scheduled,” said Parodi.
Parody added that they are satisfied with the progress achieved so far by the Government of the FBiH in terms of implementation of measures from the Reform Agenda.
“Furthermore, we are also satisfied with the fact that FBiH adopted a credible budget for 2016 which is on the verge of decreasing the debt in the medium term. Of course, we are ready to provide full support to the Government of the FBiH in its reform endeavors,” said the residing representative of the IMF in BiH.
