“In this way, the preconditions would be created for increasing the volume of collection of public revenues on the basis of reimbursements for the organization of RNG betting and the tax on winnings in games of chance,” confirmed the Minister of Finance of FBiH Jelka Milićević.

After considering the Information on effects of implementation of the new Law on Games of Chance, the Government of FBiH concluded that the relevant ministry shall prepare and send to procedure the amendments to the law.

“Amendments are proposed in the part which regulates the type and amount of monthly reimbursements that the organizers of betting and games of chance are obliged to pay, as well as the manner of collecting taxes on all winnings in games of chance,” Milićević explained.

The Minister notes that financial effects of the adoption of the Law on Games of Chance were evident already in the fourth quarter of last year, when an increase in revenues generated from games of chance amounting to more than 16 million BAM was recorded.

Application of the Law should lead to the establishment of an efficient and reliable system of monitoring and control of the entire operation and the turnover generated by the organizers of games of chance.

“A whole set of rules is yet to be made in order for the law to be completely implemented,” Milićević stated.
