Traffic intensity has increased on the occasion of the May Day holidays. The heaviest congestion is recorded on the main road Sarajevo-Mostar section Bradina-Konjic, at border crossings to the south, as well as towards local picnic areas.

Drivers are advised to plan their journey in a timely manner, and to monitor the situation at border crossings via cameras available on our website, BIHAMK announced.

In the territory of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a ban on the transport of explosive materials is in force until midnight tomorrow (02.05.).

There are long lines of passenger vehicles at the entrance to Bosnia and Herzegovina at the border crossings: Izačić, Velika Kladuša, Hadžin Potok, Novi Grad and Kostajnica, while the frequency of traffic has increased in both directions at the border crossings: Gradiška, Gradina, Brod, Svilaj, Kamensko and Bijača. At the Doljani border crossing, there is a long line of vehicles at the exit from Bosnia and Herzegovina. At other border crossings, delays for passenger vehicles range from 10 to 30 minutes.

Due to the registration of passengers under the new system of exit and entry into the countries of the European Union (EES, Entry/Exit System), longer delays at border crossings are possible.

Due to road rehabilitation works on the A-1 motorway section Kakanj-Lašva, the left side of the motorway is closed for a length of 3 km, and vehicles are being directed along the two-way right side, direction Lašva-Kakanj.

On the A-1 motorway sections Sarajevo North-Podlugovi and Sarajevo West-Lepenica, traffic is being redirected to the overtaking lane due to current works.

The movement of all vehicles over the bridge on the main road Dobro Polje-Miljevina is prohibited. Vehicles with a total mass of up to 3.5 tons can use the roads via Grepko or Kalinovik (there are 19 km of macadam roads), while freight vehicles must travel via Rogatica and Ustiprača.

On the Tuzla-Bijeljina (Banj Brdo) main road, vehicles up to 3.5 tons are moving in one lane, alternately, while traffic for vehicles over 3.5 tons is still suspended.

On the Jablanica-Blidinje main road, traffic for vehicles up to 3.5 tons is allowed, while traffic for vehicles over 3.5 tons is still suspended.

On the M-5 main road, the Izačić-Bihać border crossing, works are being carried out on the reconstruction of the bridge over the Mrižnica stream. Vehicles are being redirected to a temporary bypass in the immediate vicinity of the works, with alternating passage.

The Brčko border crossing is open to passenger vehicles up to 3.5 tons. As of December 2, 2025, the Karakaj border crossing is open to all vehicle categories. Traffic for all freight vehicles is prohibited at the Šepak border crossing.
