12788298_1734284166808260_1653967274_nIndependence Day in Sarajevo today was marked by laying flowers at the cemetery Kovaci, memorial Vjecna vatra (Eternal flame) and memorial to murdered children of besieged Sarajevo.

Flowers were laid by representatives of all levels of government, among others, Bakir Izetbegovic, member of the Presidency of BiH.

Izetbegovic congratulated the 1st of March, the Independence Day, to all man and women in BiH.

“24 years ago, more than 2 million citizens of BiH chose to follow the path of freedom and independence at a historical crossroads,” said Izetbegovic.

He reminded that tens of thousands of BiH citizens confirmed this decision with their life.

“We have a special obligation towards them to continue to build this country, to build a society of justice and prosperity, to win over all the good and well-intentioned people who want peace and prosperity, who want to improve their country, who love this country, to feel good and to feel the prospects for their children and grandchildren,” said Izetbegovic.

Izetbegovic will, together with the Chairman of the BiH Presidency, prepare a reception tonight in the building of the Presidency of BiH on the occasion of the Independence Day.
