Indian Peacemaker Sri Sri Ravi Shankar to arrive in Sarajevo

Shankar nap.baSri Sri Ravi Shankar, a world-renowned humanitarian, peacemaker and spiritual leader of India will visit Bosnia and Herzegovina on April 27th as part of his world tour to promote peace and will hold a lecture on “The Voice for Peace and Human Values” in the Bosnian Cultural Center in Sarajevo, starting at 19 a.m., writes BH news agency Patria.

Citizens from Serbia, Croatia, Bulgaria and other Eastern European countries are coming to Sarajevo on that day as well.

In an official visit to Sarajevo, he will be received by the member of the B&H Presidency Bakir Izetbegović.

Shankar’s vision of society without stress and violence united millions of people around the world through service projects and social programs of The Art of Living Foundation (Umijeće Življenja), founded by him. The message of this spiritual teacher and peacemaker is: “The whole world is one family”.

Art of Living involves yoga and breathing techniques that reduce stress, strengthen the immune system, and improve your mood. These techniques are taught in more than 150 countries worldwide.

Who is Sri Sri Ravi Shankar?

He was born in 1956 in Southern India, studied Vedic literature and graduated in Physics. He received numerous international awards, rewards, honorary doctorates and professorates, and was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize three times.

“Art of Living” has a special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of United Nations (ECOSOC), participates in the work of the many advisory bodies and carries out many activities and humanitarian projects in the fields of health, education, sustainable development, empowerment of women, prisoner rehabilitation, conflict resolution and recovery from natural disasters and terrorist attacks.

The Association Art of Living (Umijeće Življenja) has been operating in Bosnia and Herzegovina since 2000, implementing programs of the International Art of Living Foundation. The headquarters of the foundation is in Tuzla.
