Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has issued an Indictment against Milan Stoparić, born in 1993 in Brčko, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who is charged with illicit trade in approximately 100 kilograms of tobacco.

This accused person is charged with illegally acquiring a larger quantity of excise goods – tobacco, which was not marked with control and tax stamps in the manner prescribed by the tax legislation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the intention of putting the said tobacco in circulation on the illegal market.

According to the allegations in the Indictment, the aforementioned accused person was transporting in his passenger motor vehicle 100 kilograms and 430 grams of cut tobacco, which was prepared in a form suitable for consumption and wrapped in plastic bags, and for which he did not have the required documentation. The accused intended to put the tobacco in circulation, but he was caught while driving the said vehicle in the area of Velika Kladuša, during the control by authorized official persons, and he was thus prevented from doing so.

The legally prescribed excise duties and taxes for the aforementioned amount of tobacco amount to more than 10,000 BAM.

The accused is charged with the criminal offence of Illicit Trade in Excise Products, referred to in Article 210a, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in conjunction with article 26 of the same Code.

The Indictment has been forwarded to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for confirmation.
