Industrial Production in BiH records Increase

Industrial production in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the eight months (January-August) this year increased by 12.3 percent compared to the same period last year.

In August this year, compared to August last year, industrial production increased by 9.1 percent, while compared to July this year it had a decline of 1.4 percent, according to the Agency for Statistics of BiH.

The growth of production in the manufacturing industry for the eight months of this year, compared to the same period last year, was 14.2 percent, with a growth of 26.8 percent in the production of machinery and equipment, 22.3 percent in the production of furniture, in in the base metals industry a growth of 20.1 percent, and in the textile industry a growth of 19 percent.

In mining, a decline of 4.3 percent was recorded, while in the production and supply of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning, the growth was 14.4 percent.
