RS industryIndustrial production of RS increased in the first half of the year for 5% compared to the same period in the last year, and that trend was followed by the increase of the number of employees in the industry.

A positive impact was achieved in all sectors of industry, and the biggest growth was recorded by companies from the field of mining and quarrying-13.2%. In the field of production and supply of the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning, the growth was 5.1%, while the impact of the manufacturing industry was increased by 2.9%.

Data of the Republic institute for statistics show that the number of employees in industry in the first half of the year increased for 1.3% compared to the same periods of 2014. In the field of the production and supply of the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning, there were 5.1% more employees, while the number of employees in the sector of mining and quarrying and in the manufacturing sector was increased for 2.9 i.e. 0.6%.

Economist Zoran Pavlovic emphasized that the rate of the growth of industrial production of 5% is a positive signal, but that the structure contributing to it is problematic.

“When we look at the industrial production sector by sector, it is easy to conclude that the industry of RS is based on the exploitation of natural resources. Impact in the production of mines and mining and quarrying is mainly increased thanks to the exploitation of raw materials that were used during the construction of the highway Banja Luka-Doboj“, said Pavlovic.
