Inflation In BiH This Year At 4.31 Percent

Based on available official statistical data for consumer price indices in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and the corresponding weights, the Central Bank of BiH (CBBiH) has estimated the annual core inflation for the first eight months of 2025 at 4.31 percent.

The annual growth of average consumer prices in the services sector is estimated at 4.83 percent.

In August, inflationary pressures strengthened in average consumer prices in the services sector, as well as in other price categories included in the calculation of core inflation.

The CBBiH’s estimate of core inflation, based on official statistical data, does not differ significantly from the estimate from the June round of quick core inflation estimates.

Relying on a very limited number of official data, in June, the core inflation for the first eight months was model-estimated at 24 basis points below the value now estimated based on official statistical data.

Although deviations from short-term model estimates, compared to estimates based on official statistical data, are negligible in the context of a series of inflationary pressures from the domestic environment, and the trend of model estimates accurately projects the future trend of estimates based on official data, consistently lower estimates may also indicate a slight model underestimation of the effect of nominal wage growth on core inflation, and inflation in the services sector.
