rukotvorineComplete project of the Intercultural International Festival, which will be held from 18 to 21 April in Kranj presents a concept of diversities, where culture is presented from different aspects, from literature, photography, ethnology fair, folk dances etc., reports Fena.

On that festival, representatives of BiH Diaspora and BiH have a significant place in presenting the culture. The organiser is BIH Cultural-Art Association ‘Dem’ from Kranj, in partnership with the Association of BiH Cultural, Artistic and Charity organisations of Slovenia, World Diaspora Association BiH, Embassy of Slovenia, Kranj Municipality and Tourism Board of Kranj.

President of ‘Dem’ Dinka Hrustanović said that the Festival wants to present to people unknown cultures, dances and customs, and in that way to broaden one’s horizons.

‘Our second aim is to present the uniqueness of different cultures and their value to all generations, especially young people. In that manner we connect with each other, we exchange experiences and we socialize. Our third aim is to show that tradition and culture can be cherished in any country in the world’, said Hrustanović, who created the idea.

She noted that the culture is also the bridge of cooperation of BiH and Diaspora, it connects  different peoples from other parts of Europe, the Balkans, and Asia and their cultural values.

She said: ‘On one place we’ll see and meet the work on activities of the Diaspora and our colleagues from BiH, Slovenia, Georgia, Ukraine, Austria, Serbia.’

She noted that visitors will have the opportunity to meet BiH landmarks, handicraft, cuisine and written word.

‘Through written word, we’ll see how the representatives of BiH Diaspora Vasvija Dedić-Bačarec sees and feels BiH as well as other citizens of BiH who live there’, she notes.

Photo and art exhibition will give a view on natural beauties of BiH and Slovenia. It will be presented by representatives of BiH- Swedish Women’s Association, representatives of BiH Denis Dugonjić and Ranislav Lukić Luka and representative of Slovenia Arijana Pisk.

Representative of the Association of Women from Slovenia will present their handicrafts, and there we’ll be able to see art of BiH women from both Diaspora and BiH.

Representatives of BiH- Swedish Women’s Association will hold seminars for associations and will try to show the world that the Bosnian woman is not just a woman who makes traditional meals; she’s much more than that.

Folk dance groups from Georgia, Ukraine, Austria, Serbia, Croatia and Slovenia will also participate at the festival.

‘BiH Diaspora will be represented by associations from Sweden, Austria and Slovenia. BiH will presented by a folk group from Velika Kladuša and Bihać’, said Hrustanović.

As a part of the presentation of different cultures and customs from different countries, a discussion on the topic ‘Diaspora BiH, experiences and dilemmas with the review on experiences of Slovenia’ will be held, and the announced guests are representatives of two countries, diplomatic representatives and representatives of NGOs.

Members of the Intercultural festival will meet on the hill near Kranj where 16 folk groups from European countries will be presented.
