medjunarodni_dan_sjecanja_na_zrtve_holokaustaThe B&H Council of Ministers and the B&H Jewish Community will organize again this year the marking of the International Day of Remembrance for the victims of the Holocaust.

With the decision of the General Assembly of the United Nations on 27 January, the day when in 1945 the infamous concentration camp in Auschwitz was liberated, the Day of Remembrance of the Holocaust was declared.

This date has been accepted in B&H, and for eight years in a row it has been marked in the joint organization of the B&H Council of Ministers and the B&H Jewish Community.

The central commemoration of victims of the Holocaust will be held tomorrow in the building of the Jewish Municipality of Sarajevo.

On occasion of the International Day of Remembrance for victims of the Holocaust, the University in Sarajevo has announced a panel discussion today at the Rectorate of the University of Sarajevo. There will also be an exhibition called ‘From Bosnia to Auschwitz’ on the concentration camp prisoners and a documentary about them.

Also, the Association for Social Research and Communication (UDIK) will mark this day with a peace action on Trg fra Grge Martića, in front of the Sarajevo Sacred Heart Cathedral.
