Concert of Sarajevo Philharmonic at National Theatre

koncertWith a concert on Wednesday, 29 January at the National Theatre Sarajevo at 20:00, the Sarajevo Philharmonic will continue its activities after a very successful last year, where it marked the 90 years of existence of the orchestra.

Still in the festive mood, the concert brings us the joyful and brilliant ‘Nutcracker’ by Russian composer P.I. Tchaikovsky.

The audience will enjoy in the performance of another work of this great composer, Italian Capriccio Op. 45, for which Tchaikovsky said: ‘’I wrote a little, sweet Italian fantasy that sounds so enchanting. It seems that this fantasy could have a successful future’’.

The first performance of this piece took place on 8 December 1880 in Moscow, conducted by Nikolai Rubenstein.

The performance by the Sarajevo Philharmonic of Symphony 45, known as the Farewell Symphony, is something not to be missed. It was composed by one of the leading composers of classical music, Joseph Haydn, known as the father of the symphony. Samra Gulamović will conduct this piece.
