The B&H World Diaspora Association, in cooperation with municipality Bihać, is organizing the first folklore festival from 20-23 June of this year, which will feature the participation of folklore groups from the B&H diaspora.
The coordinator of the project is member of GO SSD Dinka Hrustanović, who is also the head of the Folklore Society DEM from Kranj.
‘’All folklore groups from the diaspora of B&H have the right to participate at this folklore festival. Folklore groups that are members of SSD B&H have an advantage. All other groups from various countries can apply, and will have the status of guests at the folklore festival of the diaspora. Our guests will also be two folklore societies from B&H. The number of folklore groups has not been determined, and depending on the number of applications will determine the presentation of folklore groups. The presentation will take place from 21 June to 22 June, and the number of groups that register will depend on whether the presentations will take place for one or two days. If there are more than 14 folklore groups, it will take place for two days. Every group will present two choreographies that represent the tradition of B&H. The societies that will be guests to the festival will perform choreographies from the areas of country from which they come’’, said Dinka Hrustanović.
