International Symposium of American Studies

filozofski-fakultetThe Faculty of Philosophy in Sarajevo hosted a symposium with international participation devoted to American Studies organized by the Department of Humanities.

The American Symposium on the topic “Critical and Comparative Perspective on American Studies” will be held on Saturday at the Philosophy Faculty in Sarajevo, with the participation of 23 representatives  from 11 universities from six countries: B&H, Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Montenegro and USA.

The symposium aims to review the methodology and modalities of American studies, to exchange experience in the implementation of the program of American studies and improvement of cooperation of American professionals and those who want to expand their knowledge of this area of research, including  faculty professors and students of the University of Sarajevo.

It should be emphasized that this symposium brought together representatives of the Department of Humanities in B&H, representatives of University of Sarajevo, University of East Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Zenica, Tuzla, Mostar Univeristy and University “Džemal Bijedić” in Mostar.

Prof. dr. Joseph W.H. Lough, a professor at Berkely University in California will hold a plenary lecture at this gathering, announced the Faculty of Philosophy.
