As the deputy of director of the Archive of Tuzla Canton marking 60 years of work this year, Selma Isić stated, it is a unique and traditional regional symposium gathering experts working in archives but many others working in that field as well.
Irreplaceable practice
“The archive practice is irreplaceable and very important for the archive field in the Canton of Tuzla, in B&H and wider. This kind of gatherings is a good chance to exchange experiences, acquire new information and to see where do we stand in comparison with others when it comes to this question.” – said Isić.
Within this event, a review Archive practice number 17, dedicated to this scientific and professional symposium has been promoted too.
The review has five parts, the first and the largest one is dedicated to the archive practice.
“The review consists of 33 studies which will be presented at this year’s symposium. There is a chapter about archive corpus too, which embraces a valuable study about the town itself and it is being kept in the Archive of the Canton of Tuzla. There is also another study by a Romanian archivist presented last year.” – said Ivana Prgin from the State Archive of Zagreb.
Development of the profession
She added that the rest of the review is made of reports and studies in which the archivists of the Canton of Tuzla presented six important studies from this field.
As the organizers announced it yesterday, the symposium will be followed by a presentation of the most contemporary archive and informatics equipment of several companies from Slovenia, B&H and Croatia. The aim of this symposium is to contribute to the development of the archive practice as well as to connect archives from B&H with institutions of the developed countries.
