Investigation against Goran Zubac and several other Members of SIPA ongoing?

Zubac Investigation slobodna-bosna.baBribe and corruption are the grounds of an anonymous report filed to the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) against the former director of the agency Goran Zubac and several other members of that agency.

Although there are clear indications that the Prosecutor’s Office of B&H is leading an investigation against the former director of SIPA Goran Zubac and several other persons, there is no official confirmation from the Prosecution of B&H.

On the other hand, SIPA confirmed that this agency received an anonymous report on December 2, 2015 against Goran Zubac and other persons and that, in accordance with the law, it has been forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office of B&H for further procedure.

Unofficially, the report refers to the accepting bribes and rigging of contest procedures.

Except for Zoran Zubac, reports for criminal offenses were filed for several other high-ranked officers of SIPA. Decision by the Prosecutor’s Office of B&H about further procedure is being expected.

As a reminder, Goran Zubac is the former director of SIPA who was validly sentenced to suspended sentence of one year in prison with the decision by the Appellate Council of the Court of B&H, after the Court of B&H confirmed the trial verdict which declared Zubac guilty of the criminal offense negligent performance of duty.

Zubac was declared guilty for (not)acting during the violent demonstrations in Sarajevo on February 7, 2014, when he stayed oblivious to the calls for engagement of SIPA’s special unit and protection of the premises of the Presidency of B&H. Precisely, he refused to provide assistance to the Directorate for coordination of police bodies in B&H in the protection of the building of the Presidency of B&H where several state and federal institutions are situated and where a property damage amounting to 339,522.41 BAM was made.
