The US Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina called it hypocritical that Dragan Covic (HDZ) and the Croatian National Assembly in BiH criticize the inflammatory rhetoric of other leaders while they themselves call for institutional and territorial reorganization of BiH.
“It is hypocritical for Dragan Covic and HNS to criticize the incendiary rhetoric of other political leaders while threatening ‘institutional and territorial reorganization’ of BiH in the same breath,” the American Embassy said in a harsh statement.
They also said that the position of the USA regarding the sovereignty, territorial integrity and multi-ethnic character of Bosnia and Herzegovina is known and remains unchanged.
“We reject new geographical divisions within and towards the sovereign state of BiH, including the creation of a third entity, and we reiterate our commitment to Bosnia and Herzegovina as a country of two entities, three constituent nations and Others,” the Americans said.
They also emphasized that the high representative provided the political parties with six weeks to engage in a dialogue on solving important issues concerning the functionality and division of power.
“It would be best if the parties spent their time doing just that, and not making anti-Dayton threats and exchanging inflammatory accusations,” it was concluded.
At today’s extended session, the Croatian National Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (HNS BiH) made a series of conclusions regarding Schmidt’s imposition of the Decision on Amending the Election Law in BiH.
Among other things, the conclusions stated:
“HNS and all its representatives will continue their activities with the aim of strengthening the political, economic, cultural and demographic position and stopping the process of deconstitution of the Croatian people in BiH in accordance with the Conclusions of the extraordinary session of the HNS from February 19, 2022, including the initiation of legal and political procedure in favor of the institutional and territorial reorganization of Bosnia and Herzegovina in accordance with federalist principles in order to ensure the functionality of the state and the equality of the three constituent peoples in BiH, especially after Bosniak threats and expressed intolerance towards coexistence with Croats in BiH.”, Klix.ba reports.
