farmIn Trnopolje near Prijedor, today has been officially opened the Breeding and Selection Center NRF “Arifagić investment” owned by Jusuf Arifagic, in whose establishment around 14 million BAM has been invested.

This is one of the most modern and largest farms of the Norwegian red cattle in the world.

After the opening ceremony Arifagić told reporters that this modern farm can serve to the peoples in the region as an example that their future is entirely in their hands.

“If we want to create something valuable that will be appreciated by the world, then we must first of all be the ones who will unite and find solutions to our problems. In a way, I am an example of a man who seeks to make progress in these areas, but I am also aware that building a strong collective, in fact a communion and participation of citizens of Prijedor, the wider region and the whole country in this project, we can make steady progress in terms of the economy and everything else,” said Arifagić.

In the past seven years, Arifagić has invested in the construction of the farm and the equipment, the most modern equipment, among which computer equipment, eight million BAM of his own funds, while six million BM are loans funds from the Turkish Zinat bank.

Currently, there are 520 dairy cows, Norwegian Red breed, in the constructed area that covers 7,300 square meters, of which the largest part are barns.

“The farm delivers monthly 60,000 liters of milk to the famous company Meggle, and it currently employs 30 workers, including eight graduates,” said Arifagić.

He added that the farm has its own space for the storage of milk, a veterinary station and agricultural pharmacy, and points out that this is not the ultimate capacity, as they plan to build new stables for about 5,000 dairy cows and work for 500 workers.

Arifagić pointed out that in the coming period he would pay significant attention to modern education of the staff in order to be able to keep up with modern trends in the field of dairy, which he will conduct in cooperation with the Norwegian company “Geno”, whose representatives provided generous help and support in this project over the past few years.

He said to the BiH diaspora that this farm can serve as an example to all those who are abroad and have capital should come to Bosnia and Herzegovina and invest, which will show that together with the people who live here one can realize profitable projects and that they can deal with European standards and developments in the field of economy.

Today’s ceremony was attended by the Norwegian Ambassador to BiH Anne Vibeke Lilo and Turkish ambassador Ahmet Yildiz, representatives of the Ziraat Bank, Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Association of Farmers RS and local communities, who promised to continue to support the implementation of all projects which are aimed at economic development of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
