Representatives of the BiH tourism investors in the private and public sectors and the representatives of the FBiH Ministry of Environment and Tourism visited Turkey, where they attended an investment conference in Istanbul. The Turkish Ministry for Culture and Tourism organized the conference, which was centered on investment in the tourist potential of BiH.

The conference was scheduled during last year’s visit of Ozgur Ozaslan, and was confirmed during the official visit of Minister Branka Đurić in Turkey for the international fairs in Izmir and Istanbul, where she represented BiH for the first time this year.

BiH representatives of the tourist sector presented their preliminary designs and project documentation for future projects, where they presented tourist investments regarding mountain retreats (improvements and upgrades of mountain accommodations, ski-slope development and supporting infrastructure, and development of additional facilities), which will be rounded in with existing investments in upgrading our mountain tourist destinations.

Also, the potential for investment in summer tourism, health, cultural-historical, sports-recreation and adventure tourism were presented.

Expressing gratitude and enthusiasm for the potential available to BiH, Turkish representatives expressed their desire to help in the progress of the BiH tourist sector and its development. They will soon organize the signing of a memorandum on cooperation on presented projects, or the strategic entry of Turkish investors in BiH.
