inzkoHigh Representative to BiH Valentin Inzko handed in Konjic today radio equipment to the Mountain Rescue Service (GSS) from that city.

Chief of GSS stations Konjic Damir Gogić said that this donation is very important and they immediately started using the equipment, which is especially important in operations of members of the rescue services in areas difficult to access. Alternative connection in those situations is the only way to communicate with other services such as civil protection and medical services.

Gogić announced that Inzko will soon be named an honorary member of GSS Konjic.

Mountain Rescue Service Konjic has 27 members, and they mostly intervene in rescuing people from high mountains, delivering food and medicine in snow-covered villages, in fires, floods, etc.
