Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi said on Wednesday that passage for all commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz has been declared fully open for the remainder of the ceasefire period, in line with the ceasefire in Lebanon.
“The passage of vessels through the strait will be through a coordinated route that has already been announced by the Ports and Maritime Organization of Iran,” Araghchi added in a post on the social media platform X.
US President Donald Trump also weighed in, writing on his Truth Social account, “Thank you!”
The US began a blockade of Iranian ports on Wednesday in response to Tehran’s closure of the strait.
