Football representation of B&H will play today in Salvador the last match in World Championship 2014 in Brazil. Players of Safet Sušić at the stadium “Fonte Nova” will play against Iran at 18:00.
B&H football players defeated by Argentina and Nigeria were left without a chance for qualification to the second round, thus tonight’s results has no a great significance for them. However, they would like to leave World Cup with a victory.
“We had no luck and probably we have disappointed some people. We are sorry for it. We should not forget that this is the first time for us here and if there were a little more honest judges decisions, we would be playing further. Thus we enter this match with a desire to win and in the most honorable way to leave the World Cup. We are interested only in victory and to play a good game “, said the coach Sušić, who in today’s match will have available all the players.
The captain of B&H representation Emir Spahić also said that players will give their best at today’s match.
“We did not expect that we would finish this early our path in World Cup. We wished for a longer stay and I think, objectively, that we could. But that’s football, that’s life and on Wednesday we have a new game to focus on, because it is important for us and for our nation. It is hard to play when we have our suitcases packed for the return but we will show what we have not had the opportunity to show so far and if someone thinks that we have come here as tourists, we will show that they are wrong”, said Spahić.
Unlike B&H team, for the selection of Iran this match is important in order to have a chance to be qualified in the next round.
This will be the sixth match between B&H and Iran. Iran has won four times and one match has ended with a draw.
