Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi will visit Saudi Arabia next week.

Raisi will attend the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) summit, Iranian state television announced.

The OIC is an organization of 57 member states that calls itself “the collective voice of the Muslim world.”

Over the past year, Iran and Saudi Arabia have re-established relations after years of hostility that threatened regional stability in the Persian Gulf, as well as in Yemen, Syria and Lebanon.

Saudi Arabia cut ties with Iran in 2016, after protesters attacked its embassy in Tehran in retaliation for the execution of a prominent Shiite imam in Saudi Arabia.
