Following the official implementation of the ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah, representatives of the Palestinian organization Hamas have also announced their readiness for a truce.

In a statement by a high-ranking Hamas official, it was declared that Hamas is prepared to establish a ceasefire in Gaza and welcomes the truce achieved between Israel and Hezbollah, according to Klix.ba.

“We have informed mediators in Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey that Hamas is ready for a ceasefire agreement and a serious prisoner exchange deal,” the official stated.

It should be mentioned that the ceasefire between Hezbollah and Israel took effect on November 27th, at 4 a.m. local time, bringing an end to 14 months of fighting.

The agreement, approved by the Security Cabinet of Israel, includes a transitional period of 60 days during which the Israeli military will withdraw its forces from southern Lebanon. At the same time, the Lebanese army will deploy approximately 5.000 soldiers south of the Litani River, including 33 points along the border with Israel.

On the other hand, Hezbollah has committed to leaving southern Lebanon under the agreement, and the organization’s infrastructure in the region will be dismantled.
