Israel resists the Agreement with Hamas in every Way: The Goal is to bring a suitable Government to Gaza

The Israeli War Cabinet held a new session yesterday, and before the meeting, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant addressed the media.

Among other things, Gallant said that the war in the Gaza Strip will not end until Hamas is removed from the military and political structures.

“In any process to end the war, we will not accept the rule of Hamas. We will advance a plan for an alternative government to Hamas. As part of that, we will isolate areas, remove members of Hamas, and bring in other forces that will enable a different government,” Gallant said.

He said that certain moves can lead to Israel fulfilling its goals.

“On the one hand, military action, and on the other, the ability to change the regime in Gaza, will lead to the achievement of two goals of this war – the dismantling of the Hamas government and the return of the hostages,” the minister said.

Gallant’s comments came after the United States (U.S.)President Joe Biden on Friday unveiled what he described as Israel’s latest proposal for a hostage deal and ceasefire to end the war in Gaza.

The U.S. president’s address sent shockwaves through Israel’s government, where far-right parties have threatened to topple the coalition if Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu tries to approve it.

“A deal according to the details announced today would mean an end to the war and giving up on the destruction of Hamas. This is an ill-advised deal that would be a victory for terrorism and a security risk for the State of Israel,” Israeli Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir said yesterday, adding that it would not represent total victory, as Netanyahu repeatedly promised, but “total defeat”, Klix.ba writes.
