Palestinians have begun to flee towards the south of Gaza through Rashid Street after Israeli army forces entered Al-Shifa Hospital in the city of Gaza on Monday.
Residents of the hospital and the surrounding area had to be evacuated.
The Israeli army announced early Monday that its forces had entered Al-Shifa Hospital, where thousands of sick and injured Palestinians, as well as displaced persons, are housed.
According to the Israeli media, around 80 Palestinians were detained within the facility.
Israel, accused of genocide, launched attacks on the Gaza Strip after October 7th last year following a cross-border attack by Hamas. So far, more than 31.700 Palestinians have been killed in the Gaza Strip.
According to the United Nations (UN), due to the Israeli offensive, 85 percent of the population of the Gaza Strip is internally displaced and facing acute shortages of food, clean water, and medicine, while 60 percent of the enclave’s infrastructure is damaged or destroyed.
Following a genocide lawsuit filed by South Africa, the International Court of Justice ruled on January 26th that Israel must refrain from any actions related to the killing, attacks, and destruction of the inhabitants of the Gaza Strip and take all measures to prevent genocide, AA writes.
