Schalke coach Miron Muslić announced tomorrow’s 2nd Bundesliga derby against Paderborn at a press conference, and also spoke to Edin Džeko, reports the portal reprezentacija.ba.

Džeko is recovering from a shoulder injury, and on Friday he started individual training. “He did his best to come back and we are overjoyed with his recovery,” said Muslić.

Schalke state that Džeko could compete for the home match against Fortuna next weekend, while our other Zmaj Nikola Katic has ended the season due to injury. Muslić added at the press conference that his team must give their maximum in the derby against second-placed Paderborn in order to achieve a positive result.

“We have had a fantastic season so far and we are fully focused on every opponent, regardless of their position in the table. We have a great record against teams at the top of the table, but, just like we did in Elversberg and Darmstadt, we will need a first-class performance in Paderborn.”

Schalke are in first place with 61 points with four rounds remaining. Second-placed Paderborn are three points behind, while third-placed Elversberg are six points behind.

The top two teams advance directly to the 2nd Bundesliga, while the third-placed team will enter the play-offs.
