The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) has claimed responsibility for tonight’s attack on a concert hall in the Moscow region that killed at least 40 people.

The Amaq news agency, linked to the terrorist group ISIL, said on Telegram that ISIL fighters “attacked a large gathering on the outskirts of the Russian capital Moscow.”

CNN reports this information and points out that no evidence was offered that the attack was planned and carried out by ISIL.

According to the Russian media, the FSB said that at least 40 dead and 100 wounded were “the result of the terrorist attack in Crocus”.

At least three attackers opened fire on visitors to the Crocus City Hall concert hall and shopping center in the Moscow region this evening. In disturbing videos posted on social media, multiple men with automatic weapons are seen walking inside the facility and shooting.
