An Italian bought a Textile Factory in Nevesinje

JavorThe Italian Claudia Varesi bought the textile factory “Javor” in Nevesinje which will hire another sixty workers in the coming period, in addition to 80 workers who are already employed. They will make men shirts for foreign markets.

The enterprise was sold for 300.000 BAM and in order to create all necessary conditions for operating and increase productivity the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining of Republika Srpska will provide funds for training of new workers, the Nevesinje Municipality will provide space, and the new owner will provide equipment and material.

During the visit to this textile factory, the Minister of Industry, Energy and Mining of Republika Srpska Petar Đokić expressed satisfaction with the fact that one serious buyer decided to invest in a very important business collective, noting that Government of Republika Srpska and the relevant ministry have encouraged the implementation of this project in Nevesinje.

Đokić emphasized how important it is for one small municipality such as Nevesinje to open new workplaces, stating that this venture will contribute to the general economic development of this local community and be significant for the growth of industrial production in Republika Srpska.

Furthermore, Đokić said that the RS Government will continue leading active policy of supporting the economic growth, development, and new employment, and financially help investors and partners.

Varesi, who has been dealing with textile production in Italy and Romania since 1976, said that after 14 months of cooperation with “Javor” she decided to buy this factory, expressing hope that together with the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining of RS and the Municipality the productivity in this factory will soon be doubled.

“I am convinced that implementation of this project will be fully satisfying for all parties included,” Varesi said and thanked the Minister Đokić for supporting the project of expanding the capacities of “Javor”.
