Tomorrow, the 2025 edition of the Italian Cuisine Week in the World, a global event dedicated to the promotion of Italian culinary tradition and its contemporary expressions, begins in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Sarajevo will once again host a rich program of activities from 12 to 15 November.
This year’s edition, jointly organized by the Embassy of Italy in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Association of Italian Businesses in BiH (AIIBH), is taking place under the motto “Italian Cuisine: A Celebration of Health, Culture and Innovation”.
The main protagonist of the event will be chef Valerio Braschi, winner of the Italian MasterChef 2017. During his stay in Sarajevo, he will participate in a series of meetings, workshops and public culinary demonstrations, including the Street Food Show Cooking, which will be held on 14 November in cooperation with the Stari Grad Municipality, in the heart of the city, on Fra Grge Martić Square. He will be joined there by the famous local chef Miran Karić. The event will be open to the public and the media, and will be broadcast live on the “Dobar dan BiH” show on TV Hayat.
In cooperation with the High School for Tourism and Hospitality in Sarajevo, an educational activity for students is planned for November 13th – an opportunity to learn firsthand about the philosophy of Italian cuisine. Also, video recipes of traditional Italian dishes, provided by the well-known online platform for Italian recipes “GialloZafferano”, will be available on the Embassy’s social media during the Week.
An evening of tasting dishes prepared by chef Valerio Braschi will be organized at the Italian Residence, which will serve to promote Italian cuisine and products among a selected group of entrepreneurs from the food sector, importers and representatives of chambers of commerce.
The Week will also be accompanied by special initiatives from partners: the Metropolis restaurant chain will offer an Italian menu inspired by regional recipes throughout the event, while the gourmet supermarket “Crvena Jabuka” will support the event by promoting its Italian products, which will be used in various activities.
The program also includes a video competition called “One Italian Recipe”, in which students from the First and Second Gymnasiums in Sarajevo and the Music School will reinterpret the Italian culinary tradition through short films. The best works will be judged by a jury composed of representatives of AIIBH, the Embassy and professors, and the award ceremony is planned in the coming weeks.
In order to extend the taste and atmosphere of the Week of Italian Cuisine, the ICE Agency Office in Sarajevo invites the public from December 1 to 6 to the MERCATOR flagship store in Ložionička (Sarajevo). On this occasion, the shelves will be in the colors of Italy: authentic Italian products will be presented with a guide for visitors who will discover the best of Italian gastronomy. The event will begin with a performance by a chef who will treat the audience to a traditional Italian dish.
