The annual gathering of families of missing persons in the municipality of Vogosca was marked by laying of flowers at the central memorial in Semizovac, and by throwing flowers from the bridge into the Bosna river, with messages for all those who have information about missing people of Vogosca to speak up.

The president of the Association of Families of the Missing Persons of Vogosca Municipality, Ema Cekic, told that this year families are also remembering their missing persons, who were taken from “Planjina kuca (house)“, and points out that another 59 people from this area are being searched for.

Cekic told all those who know the truth about the missing citizens of Vogosca that the time has come to speak up.

She reminded that no one was held accountable for the disappearance and abduction of persons from the area of this municipality, and that the families are dissatisfied with the work of judicial institutions.

“It is something that hurts us, and the Prosecutor’s Office should initiate proceeding in order to find all the missing persons,” she added.

Dzemila Duric said that many family members from Svrakehave disappeared, including her brother-in-law.

“It’s sad that after all these years, we can’t find anything, not a single bone,” she said.

During the gathering, the literary works of elementary school students were read on the topic “The missing are not forgotten”, the names of the missing were read, and flowers were laid next to the memorial.

The Balkan Investigative Reporting Network Bosnia and Herzegovina (BIRN BiH) has published a database of judicially established facts about the war in BiH, where the panels of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia found crimes that took place in the area of Vogosca during 1992, Detektor reports.
