Ivanic met with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in Baku

Ivanic AliyevChairman of the Presidency of BiH Mladen Ivanic met with the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in Baku.

Chairman Ivanic thanked President Aliyev for the overall support of Azerbaijan to BiH, especially on investments whose realization is currently taking place. Azerbaijan financed the construction of factories for processing fruits and vegetables in Srebrenica and Doboj, and the project of reconstruction of the healthcare center in Kotor Varos, which is funded by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. The foundation stone for the reconstruction of this healthcare center was laid ten days ago, and the deadline for its completion is December this year.

President Aliyev informed Chairman Ivanic on expectations of Azerbaijan in relation to the significant economic growth of this country, which is why expanding of areas of possible cooperation is realistic. They emphasized the possibility of improving trade and tourism cooperation.

They expressed satisfaction with the traditionally good bilateral relations between the two countries and exchanged their views on the global situation. They also noted the high degree of consensus on major issues of international relationships.

Chairman of the Presidency of BiH informed President Aliyev on the current internal political situation and steps that BiH is making towards membership in the European Union.

Chairman of the Presidency of BiH Mladen Ivanic participates at the 5th Global Forum in Baku, which is organized by the International Center Nizami Ganjavi. Ivanic spoke at a session “Future of Europe”.

“The future of the EU is necessary from the economic, as well as the standpoint of safety. The fight against terrorism and resolving the refugee crisis is only possible by joint efforts of the EU countries and those that are on their path to join it,” said Ivanic during his session.

The participants of the 5th Baku Global Forum are also presidents of Montenegro, Macedonia, Albania and Latvia, as well as Saudi Prince.
